Meet the Artists

Lillian Scheirich — Violin

Lillian Scheirich is Concertmaster of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and one of Windsor’s most established violinists and music educators.

Originally from Windsor, she studied at the Detroit Community Music School and the Mozarteum in Salzburg before receiving a scholarship to the Eastman School of Music, where she completed degrees in Violin Performance and Music Education.

Her career has included performances at music festivals across Canada and the United States, extensive chamber music work, and many years teaching violin at the University of Windsor. She has also served as an adjudicator for competitions in Canada and Michigan, including the JUNO Awards.

Lillian received the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in Music and has recorded three chamber music albums with pianist Mary Siciliano.

Mary Siciliano — Piano

Mary Siciliano is an accomplished pianist, educator, and chamber musician with an extensive performing and teaching career.

She has taught at the University of Michigan, Schoolcraft College, Madonna University, and Oakland University, where she directed the piano pedagogy program. She currently teaches at the Interlochen Arts Camp and co-directs Chamber Music With Piano at Madonna University.

Mary has performed throughout the United States, Canada, and France and has recorded seven albums, including three collaborations with Lillian Scheirich. She also coordinates the Pleyel Piano Series at the Scarab Club in Detroit.

She earned her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Michigan, where she received the Joseph Brinkman Prize for outstanding performance.

A Longstanding Musical Collaboration

Scheirich and Siciliano have developed a musical partnership that extends from the concert stage to the recording studio. Together, they have explored both familiar repertoire and remarkable works by composers whose chamber music is heard less frequently.

Their recent recital programs have included music by Jacques de la Presle, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, Fernand de La Tombelle, and Ignatz Waghalter. Their recorded collaborations have also featured works by Waghalter, de la Presle, and de La Tombelle.

An Intimate Chamber Music Experience

A violin and piano concert in Windsor offers audiences the opportunity to experience chamber music at close range, where the musical conversation between performers becomes an essential part of the performance.

The expressive voice of the violin and the colour and depth of the piano create an extraordinary range of sound, from moments of great intensity to passages of remarkable delicacy and intimacy.

This recital continues Chamber Music Windsor’s commitment to presenting exceptional musicians and memorable live performances for audiences throughout Windsor and Essex County.
